aesthetic group gymnastics..

This time i'm going to write about my lovely hobby, AESTHETIC GROUP GYMNASTICS.
Not many people know what this is about, but i'm going to make sure that after you've read this you will be absolutely sure what it is.
AGG (Aesthetic Group Gymnastics) is a team sport, combined with art, expression and feelings. Usually a team has about six to 10 gymnasts who perform a choreography with the ability to listen to music and by putting their souls in to it. The composition must contain body waves and swings, balances, jumps, dance steps, and lifts. The gymnasts must have flexibility, coordination, strength and they need to be in a really good condition.
So where do they perform these then?
We have world championships and the country's own competitions. The judging consists of three judge groups:
-the technical judges search for the needed jumps, body movements, balances etc.
-the artistic judges evaluate the choreography, how it is presented and how artisticly it was presented
-then there are judges who evaluate the whole composition; was the performance performed at the same time, the level of the team etc.
The maximum points a team can get is 20.
Finnish teams have done really well at the national competitions. Finland has won the gold medal 7 times at the world championships and silver almost as many times.
Here is a Finnish team, Deltat who have won the gold medal 2008 and 2009.
Here is the national team of Bulgaria --->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6g5_Zw4j-jo

  1. Is this your hobby? I must say I have never much cared about sports which are somehow judged or in which they give points of aesthethic value. Don´t get me wrong, I still consider this a sport.
